Tromsa Salsa - This is the home of Erik and Consuelo, the Gemini Salsa Open Champions for 2006 and their dance team, Salsa Frio.  They did an incredible job competing at the San Juan, Puerto Rico Salsa Open.  We became close as friends through our journies in New York and Puerto Rico.  I miss you guys already!

www.eddietorres.com - This man is the one-stop instruction for salsa in New York. Everybody goes to him, has gone through him or has learned from someone who has gone through him. Eddie is THE reason to go on a pilgrimage to New York. Don’t get me wrong; the other dance companies are very good and teach very well, but there is no one like Eddie.

Salsa Fever On 2 Dance Studio - This is the studio run by my main man Mario B. He is the director of “Plan B” and one of Santo Rico’s finest. I predict he will be one of the busiest salsa entertainers this year. Check him out!

Art In Motion - My bro Darlin Garcia is the lead choreographer for this group. He also got 3rd place in the “on 1″ division of the World Salsa Championships. Keep it going my man.

www.imambo.tv - This is one of my favorite sites for seeing videos of some of the world’s best dancers dancing in the social setting. Shaka Brown is the manager of this site, as well as director of ClaveKazi, one of DC’s premiere salsa/mambo dance companies.

Tampa Bay, Florida

Salsa Caliente Dance Studio - This is a hot spot in the swamp! Salsa Caliente Dance Studio, owned by my dear friend Erika Occhipinti, and managed by my bro Juan Paredes, pulls in students from all over Tampa, and talent from all over the U.S. Erika was recently interviewed online at La Voz del Mambo. Majesty in Motion - These guys are the real deal! Their choreographies are fantastic! David Stein and Jennifer Lucero were here a couple of years ago for performances and workshops and they brought it San Diego style. They are also two of the nicest people I have met in the scene. Salsamania Dance Company - This is the home of one of the most dynamic salsa dance companies in the world, “on 1″ or “on 2″. John and Liz are an inspiration to many for the work they have done, myself included. Thanks John for being a friend and helping to advance my salsa dancing.

www.cubaneoson.com - Welcome to the site of the Award Winning Cubaneo. Cubaneo was selected as Band of the Year by the Portland Salsa Public at this year’s first annual NW Salsa Awards Show in February. Cubaneo continues to back this up by performing every Thursday night at Andrea’s Cha Cha Club. Check them out!

DJ Roger Rumba - This is the official website of DJ Roger Rumba, a Portland DJ and salsa event promoter. Roger is the mind behind Salsa En La Calle, the biggest latin entertainment event running in Portland.

Dancemode Studios - This is a place where all kinds of dances are taught. Angelko runs Dancemode studios and he is a good teacher. 

Sabor Latino Dance Company - Portland’s original dance company founded in 1999. Sabor Latino does a lot for the Portland Salsa community including performing locally, nationally and internationally. Recently Director George Caceres has been selected to teach at the Northwest Congress and for the 2nd time at the Vancouver Congress. All I can say is it is a long time deserved.

Rumbanana Dance Performance Group - This is the valley’s connection to salsa events in Eugene and Corvallis. Mike and Simona just recently got back from teaching Casino Rueda at the Houston Salsa Congress. Congrats guys!

www.portlandsalsadj.com/ - Home of DJ Armando Justiani, Portland’s most decorated Salsa promoter.  He has been the muscle behind some of salsa’s greats coming to Portland including: Frankie Martinez, Troy and Jorjet, Olivia Dasso, Juan Matos, Salsamania and Hacha y Machete.  You can hear his music on his website and at Aztec Willie’s on Saturday nights.

This is Portland’s biggest competition and it is a qualifier for the World Salsa Championships to held in Orlando, Fla. in December of 2008. This year’s competition will be held on June 13-15, 2008, with workshops by special out of town guests at the Paradise Ballroom.
